Hearty Skillet Cheese Cornbread

Serve this cheesy rich cornbread with your favorite hearty soup, stew or chili.
1 cup Cornmeal
1 cup Flour
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup Milk
1 Egg, lightly beaten
1 cup Creamed Corn
1-1/2 cups Cheddar, grated
2 tablespoons Butter
Place a large (14-inch will work fine) cast iron skillet into a pre-heated 425 degree oven.
Mix together all ingredients except the butter.
Add butter to the hot pan until just melted. Pour the mixture into the hot skillet.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until lightly browned. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
